Meet our leaders

Reverend Raff Chaves

SENIOR LEADER

Hi, I'm Raff! I am married to my amazing wife, Louise, and blessed to be the father of four incredible children. I'm a Priest in the Church of England, passionate about faith, community, and supporting others on their journey.

In my spare time, you will find me running - one of my favourite hobbies - or making the most of my family time. As a recovering addict, I know the power of grace, resilience and transformation, and I'm committed to sharing the hope of Christ wherever I go.

Katie Lovell

BOW LEADER

Hi, my name is Katie.

I’m married to my incredible husband, Christian, and I’m a proud mum of four, as well as being blessed with five wonderful stepchildren. My journey through recovery has shaped me deeply, giving me years of experience in walking alongside others who are seeking hope and healing.

In my spare time, I love building Lego creations with my little one and taking peaceful walks with my dogs in the forest. More than anything, I have a heart for making the love of Jesus known to all, and I am currently discerning ordination with the Church of England.

I’m passionate about faith, restoration, and sharing the grace that has transformed my life.

Angela Jane Joy

LEEDS LEADER

Hi, I’m Angela.

For years, I was a broken girl, trapped in chains of addiction and living in a messed-up world. But in 2015, after hitting rock bottom and feeling completely hopeless, I cried out to God... and He answered.
In that moment of desperation, I encountered the love and power of Jesus Christ. He rescued me from rejection, deep trauma, and the pain of physical, mental, and sexual abuse. He healed my broken heart, restored my life, and set me free from the grip of addiction.
That encounter with God became the turning point that led me into true recovery, healing, and transformation.
Today, I am living a life of freedom, joy, and purpose. I now have the honour of leading Our Father’s House Recovery Ministry in Leeds, where I walk alongside others who are struggling with addiction and brokenness. My heart burns to see people set free, to bring hope to the hopeless, and to point them to the One who can truly transform lives — Jesus Christ.

Hello, my name is Enock. I’ve been walking in freedom from alcohol and drug addiction for multiple years. Debz Matthews

ZOOM OVERSEER

Hi my name is Debz.

I am a grateful follower of Jesus Christ and a proud mother of two sons—my greatest gifts from God. Through God’s grace, I have experienced a deeply transformative journey that has shaped both my faith and my purpose. The Lord has given me a heart to love others exactly where they are, whether I am caring for my mother, working part-time with individuals seeking recovery, or walking alongside families in need of hope.

I am a trained Recovery Coach Professional for families and a woman in long-term recovery. My life is a testimony to the redeeming and restoring power of Christ. What the Lord has done in my life fuels my passion to share my story and encourage others to trust in what God can do for them.

“Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.”

— Psalms 66:16. NIV

Gerard Corsane

NEWCASTLE LEADER

Free from alcoholism and nicotine addiction since the 1st of March 2023, I am the lead of Our Father's House and the recovery ministry at St Luke's Newcastle. Since the start of my own recovery, I have increasingly become involved in various recovery community-groups and services. I am currently involved at a city-wide level in supporting Revival Newcastle.  As a child of God, my role as a Newcastle Recovery Connector has primarily been to promote Christian/Church recovery opportunities.

Born in what is now Zimbabwe and coming to faith in my early teens, I originally felt called to youth ministry. I studied for a BA, majoring in theology and church history at a university in South Africa, but it turned out that there were no opportunities at the time to enter into salaried vocational ministry. As a result , I went on to complete postgraduate programmes in history and then museum studies. This led me into a career as a practitioner in the heritage & museums sector, and later into academic lecturing and resesearch. Unfortunately, this career became an idol and I became a workaholic and alcaholic, who strove for acceptance, achievement, recognition and affirmation in my own strength. This ended in a dark chapter in my life, with brokenness and shame. With gratitude and to God's glory, I have been released and healed from this, and now have a deep compassion to support others in their personal recovery journeys and to encourage them to come to faith and live in Christian discipleship and fellowship.
