Finding Freedom Through Faith

At Our Father's House, we are a Christian recovery ministry rooted in the 12-step programme, bridging the gap between the anonymous 12-step fellowships, such as NA, GA, CA and AA and the church. Our mission is to support those battling addiction as well as  their families in their recovery journey while leading them into a relationship with Jesus.

We are here to support not just those battling addiction themselves, but their loved ones, so if you are affected by someone else's addiction, we are here for you.

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

John 8:36

SAVED TO SERVE

Specialised in Faith-Based Recovery and Support for Those Overcoming Addiction.

Through a relationship with Jesus Christ and the work of the 12 steps programme, our lives have been transformed, and our calling today is to bring the same hope we found to those still struggling. Come as you are!

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."

Galatians 5:13

A Journey From Emptiness to Fulfilment

Many of us have walked the difficult road of addiction and know firsthand the struggles of seeking fulfilment in material and external things. For years, I was in recovery but still felt empty and depressed, unable to find true joy. It was only when I encountered Jesus that my life truly changed.

That experience ignited a desire to help others find the same freedom and purpose. However, within the 12-step fellowships, I found that I couldn’t openly express my faith, as the term “higher power” was used instead. This led to the creation of our Christian 12-step recovery ministry, where we can work through the steps while fully embracing our faith in Christ.

We believe that there's not enough recovery information at the churches across our nation, and no christianity information in the recovery rooms, so our aim is to bridge this gap.

"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me , as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

John 7:37-38

Who We Are

We are a dedicated group of around 20 volunteers based in London (All Hallows Bow church - allhallowsbow.org.uk) and Leeds (St Philip's Church, Osmondtorphe - stphilipsleeds.org), all of whom have been affected by addiction either directly or indirectly. Most of us have been in recovery for years and are active members of 12-step fellowships such as AA, NA, and CA, as well as committed members of our local churches.

Our goal is simple: to help others experience the same joy, freedom, and purpose that we have found through faith.

We are here to equip churches across the Uk on how to support those battling addiction well, and on how to engage with the recovery community.
